Question about anxiety disorder?
ByI have been dealing with this problem for 7 years now. I have had two or three MRI, been to a neurologist several times, and nothing has shown up. I have live with constant dizzyness, not the spinning dizziness, but feeling off balance, as if walking on a boat. I am taking lexapro, for one week, but so far, no relief. Anyone else ever experinced something like this with anxiety? is it a normal reaction?

Go see an ear, nose and throat specialist. The health of your ear greatly affects balance.

I regularly feel out of balance, I think I am seriously used to it! I first started to feel dizzy when i was about 14 in nervous situations like in exams or in the classroom and it really took over my life but i learnt to live with it and i forget about it, for some reason I still get dizzy and off balance now but i ignore it because yes i think it is just something that comes along with anxiety.

I experienced similar symptoms together with mild agoraphobia. Every time I would go outside my house, take public transport and especially go underground, I would feel dizziness and being off balance together with sweating and being anxious without any reason. I took some psychotherapy sessions and the symptoms disappeared. To sum up what the shrink told me was that I had to try and concentrate on my physical symptoms (sweating, light tremor, etc.) and imagine that it was caused by jogging or rollerblading. Somehow it worked! My agoraphobia disappeared so did the dizziness. It all begins in the brains!
