Jesus, having an eating disorder and coming from an unprivillaged backround is unfair. Like how much does it cost to stay there?

Yeah, poverty and …
Yeah, poverty and ED is really a bad combination. It used to be considered rich class white girl’s disease, and that’s really not true anymore (if it ever was). There’s some info on our web site about getting your insurance to cover treatment. You could also call the info line at 888.520.1700.

I’m doing a video …
I’m doing a video series on my eating disorder and recovery. I’m kind of going around to all the youtube accounts I see that are related to anorexia/bulimia and letting them know. I think it’s worth a watch… I really just want to get my message across to everyone who is suffering from an eating disorder.

You’ll probably …
You’ll probably have a roommate unless we’re not full. It may feel awkward at first, but it’s pretty common to form lasting friendships with the people who go through treatment with you.

Mirasol’s adult …
Mirasol’s adult residential program is 45-60 days, but not everyone can afford the time/cost of long-term treatment. So just recently we’ve begun offering an intensive 30-day program that emphasizes practical skills for coping with the eating disorder while still getting on with school/work/life. Call 888-520-1700 for more info.

Read Explaining …
Read Explaining colours to a blind man. Not only will it enlighten many as to what living with a mental illness and an eating disorder is like, it also gives comfort to those sufferers who think there is no hope and that they are alone. It is very informative, sometimes shocking but also very funny in parts. All in all, a good read and highly recommended.

I understand your …
I understand your concern. The first year after treatment is critical. Make sure you go home with a good aftercare plan in place, including regular visits to an outpatient therapist and a support group. Be well and be strong!

I actually went to Mirasol, and I can now strongly attribute it to my recovery from anorexia. I loved it, and can legitimately say, it saved my life. Anyways, I live in Arizona, so the cost may be a little different for you, but I payed $34,759. Pricey, but worth it.
