Can anyone suggest a good solution for anxiety disorder?

By admin

I have suffered with anxiety for most of my life and have tried different medications with varying degrees of success. I've also tried drinking too much, which just makes things worse lol. What solutions have others found to anxiety disorder?

It can be a case of trial and error with the different medications that are available. Your doctor should keep monitoring you and suggest alternatives if you do not feel that what you are taking is working, don't be afraid to ask to be referred to a specialist for CBT if you don't feel that medication is the answer. There are changes to your diet and lifestyle such as cutting back on caffeine and alcohol that can make a big difference. Sometimes just by experiencing a drop in physical symptoms you can find yourself a platform to move forward.
You didn't mention what type of anxiety disorder you are suffering with e.g. general, social or panic attacks. Has your doctor identified which group that your anxiety belongs to. There are a lot of good books and websites on the subject of anxiety. One I like is www.anxiety-disorder-solutions.com, and of course a wikipedia search can also turn out some useful info. I would suggest that you should read up on the condition so that you can feel more confident discussing it with your doctor.
Good luck

Therapy or life coaching, with medication. What sort of anxiety disorder is it? A phobia, general anxiety disorder, social anxiety, etc.?
For me, I had anxiety with talking to people… small talk terrified me! I took up a job waiting tables and after time I became more confident in not only talking to the customers but also talking with new people outside of work. That's the only thing that ever cured my anxiety… being forced to deal with it every day.

You could ask your doctor to sign you up for some cognitive behavioral therapy. they can even provide online CBT, and I've heard it works.

Hey Stu, your looking for a solution so your already on the path to better days!

an anxiety disorder can be caused by low serotonin. So what you may want to do is practice things that enhance serotonin and avoid things that deplete it.

Exercise. Yup, everyone hates it but exercise is the best anti anxiety, anti depressant there is out there. the more you do it the better you feel. it balances out your hormones and gets rid of all the anxiety and tension in your body.

balance your sugar, coffee, chocolate and intake, this can cause spikes in your energy.

whatever you do, make sure you get good sleep!!

avoid alcohol when you can. On the weekends is fine, but expect to feel down and/or anxious the next day. I have to prepare myself for these nights. I also take liquid vitamin B and a multi vitamin before I go out to have drinks and this really minimizes the ugly hangover and feeling shakey the next day.

try to focus on the things that make you confident. This offers so much for a person with anxiey. If I could underline that sentence I would. Anxiety has alot to do with the unknown, if you have more confidence you will feel more apt to deal with the future.

I dont know about meds like zanax, I have to much anxiety about taking them to actually take them lol.
I have had the best result from zoloft but I gained weight on it. I am on prozac now and its not that good for anxiety but I feel more chipper lol.
I also took ativan but didnt notice any effect at all while I took it.

email me if you like..I have tons of tips..

I am sorry to hear about your problem. There must be an underlaying cause for the problem you are encountering. Only you know what it is.
My heart reaches out to you, for I was once like you with problems that I thought I could not handle. Now I have learned that life is full of blessings, we have a lot to be thankful for. In life, change is inevitable, you must learn to embrace it and move on. Whatever happens to us, it is meant to be and it is up to ourselves to be happy, no matter what the circumstance.
You must learn how to always be optimistic, energetic with positive thoughts and grateful for all your blessings around you.

As many other people around the world, we all have our problems in life. I also have had a share of my own, and only recently have I found help. If you start to think positive every day, every moment, it will change the way you feel, and then it will change the way you react to situations, and then in time… you will emerge as a whole new person with a positive attitude towards life. Hopefully, any negative emotion you feel you have, depression, panic and anxiety, will only be a small part of history in your life.

This website has helped me a great deal about how to beat depression and panic attacks http://raja.web.id/to:a

Best wishes to you, I hope you will find true happiness.
