What kind of treatment is there for this?
ByMy friend developed a horrible fear of throwing up in public (he doesn't have a fear of puking at home though or in a car, just when he's out in public in front of ppl).. so whenever he goes out to stores or other places, he gets bad panic attacks (nausea, dry mouth, heart races, sweaty palms, excessive swallowing, etc) but when he leaves he feels fine. It all started with a bout of stomach virus 2 months ago.
What kind of treatment would be available?
No Treatment, it will pass, its likes falling off your bike and not wanting to go back on in fear of falling agian. Just give him some time and his fear will go away. Maybe now this might not be the smartest way but get real drunk till the point hes in public (friends house with lots of people or somehting) and throws up, he will realize wow im F'ed up but hey i threw up and everything is cool

Hello. I would recommend that he see a Psychologist. Does he still have the stomach virus? This all depends on that.

the same thing is going on w/ my bf for the past 7 years and so far no cure except for taking xanax …but he doesnt have health insurance so he cant get it ..but if your friend has health insurance I'm sure the doctor would be able to prescirbe that or some other anti anixety medicine but …thats the short term fix b.c. I dont think it is good to take that kind of medicine everyday..so I dont know what else to tell you
